The Music I Play

Several years ago, I discovered what the banjo was like during the Civil War. This led me down a path of exploration. I absorbed all the material and knowledge I could through available resources. I still play this music, and it has resulted in an expansion of the repertoire through arranging new material from the same resources our predecessors did, including new compositions with respect for the original style. I am a practitioner of the Hybrid Style of play, which is a combination of the early Stroke Style of play with Fingerstyle.

The electric guitar has been a lifelong fascination and journey. Beginning when I was 12 in 1969, I loved rock and roll. Evolving through advanced studies in Classical guitar and other genres, I am ending up where I started, Rock on!

The acoustic guitar serves mainly as an accompaniment to the songs I sing for entertainment. These include favorites I have been exposed to throughout my career, and mostly embody the spirit of early Americana. I especially enjoy working at senior facilities.
